Indonesia Palm Oil
In response to the growing significance of palm oil as multi-purpose resources that serve the global agro/bio market for edible, industrial and other versatile applications, POSCO INTERNATIONAL initiated its endeavors to create large-scale palm plantations and make facility investments in Papua, Indonesia, back in 2011, and the plantation development was completed at the end of 2017. Our palm oil business involves the extraction of oil from fresh fruit bunches (FFBs) harvested at plantations and the production and sales of oilseed products manufactured from processed FFBs. With the full-scale production of Crude Palm Oil (CPO), we are serving the domestic Indonesian market and exporting to Southeastern and Southwestern Asian countries. Our plan is to enter the refinery business to continuously push the boundary of our palm business value chain, from plantation and CPO extraction to the production of refined oil and edible/industrial oil seed products and even to bio-diesel business.
